A campaign game about adventures, exploration and fierce battles with giant monsters.
What is it about Polish game studios and epic games? The game scene must be huge over there! And now new company Into the Unknown has jumped into the fray with Aeon Trespass: Odyssey, an incredibly ambitious campaign game set in a weird alternate Ancient Greece.
In this very original game inspired by the Kickstarter phenomenon that was Kingdom Death: Monster, the gods are dead and you are the Argonauts, exploring the seas on a giant city-ship called the Argo, ‘junctioning’ with 30 foot tall titans to battle huge creatures called primordials. I told you it was weird! And yet this bizarre science-fantasy-historical world seems to hang together beautifully as soon as you open the (striking, but bland) big white box.
Like KDM and Oathsworne before it, the focus here is on big boss battles, but there’s also a huge adventure and story component too, with crafting, character development and exploration. This epic game comes with three large campaigns or ‘cycles’, and bunch of very imaginative miniatures, endless cards, and an 80-page rulebook. Yes, 80 pages! And I don’t mind telling you it was a time-consuming challenge to distill that mammoth rulebook down into 9 without leaving anything out, but here it is. I’ll have much more to come about this mammoth adventure game as I get into it, but in the meantime, do yourself a favour and download this rules & reference, so you don’t have to flip through all those pages of rules every time you play!
If you’re here from the Aeon Trespass Kickstarter page, be sure to check out my other 442 rules & reference sheets, my 500 YouTube videos, and follow me on social media (links at the top of the page) to never miss new stuff from the Esoteric Order of Gamers!
Hi, I think the reference sheet has the names swapped for the progress and doom tokens under the Exploration step. At Voyage Phase/3. Exploration step/1. Resolve exploration symbols:
Progress: Gain +1.
Doom: If the tile is unexplored, gain +1
Fixed!
Hi, thank you for the great work. I am suggesting putting page number on it, to help with all Battle pages per example.
