You see, in this world there’s two kinds of people, my friend: those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig.
Unboxing the second core set of Shadows of Brimstone, plus an assembled miniatures showcase.
More unboxing fun of the Flying Frog persuasion, as I crack open the second core set, Swamps of Death. I mean, you’d stay away from anyone going to the swamps of death, wouldn’t you? “Hey John, would you like to join our expedition to the swamps of death?” “No thanks Simon, I think I’ll stay in town wenching and drinking, if it’s all the same to you, but good luck lads!”
Not only do I peruse the game’s contents, but I throw in a little tip concerning unpunching your counters, and then I zip forward in time to follow that up with a close-up showcase of all the miniatures from both sets (after having done a bit of construction and rough cleanup). They’re not the most finely-detailed and carefully-designed figures however, so grab yourself a small bucket of green stuff if you want to hide all those joins. Oh well, these here are boardgame figures, pardner!
rootin’-tootin’!
For the main headings of the Brimstone articles it was definitely a toss-up between The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly and Blazing Saddles.
Great components. I Hope you make a painting video and very important, a Battle report. Let the creatures eating Blue beans.
I have no Time to paint all minis of My games, but what i ever do is, i do bath all my counters, tokens and gaming tiles (all what is making with paper) in a mix of woodglue and water. So later when their Are dry, they are much harder and dont damaged.

Sounds a little risky, I’ve never heard that of doing that before. You must be rough with your components!
Pretty surprising to see the underwhelming quality of those minis compared to the rest of the package. Thanks for the doing the closeups of the figures. Are you going to paint the whole set before any battle reports are considered?
Yes, they’re not particularly high quality, but then I wasn’t expecting that much. I’m working on the figures now so hopefully they’lll be painted before a battle report. Also, I’m waiting on the next visit of me ol’ gaming buddy, Will.
I was glad a friend owned this, not sure how I would feel having it in my painting queue! I am going to grab a Reaper Bones cowboy to represent my Gunslinger and paint it up 🙂 I’d quite like to have a bash at painting some of the more interesting monsters.
Good idea. If the game delivers, there are far better Wild/Weird West figures out there which would be great to use.
