Dominate the lands of the Dystopian Age with your Armoured Clash rules & reference!

It’s no secret that I love epic scale tabletop miniatures games – a love that started way back with the first Adeptus Titanicus boxed set from Games Workshop back in 1988. In recent years that game has been re-released, along with a new version of Warhammer 40,000 epic-scale battles called Legions Imperialis. But why aren’t there more games in this scale from other publishers?

Well, now there’s one at least! Warcradle Studios, makers of the excellent steampunk naval wargame Dystopian Wars, have finally released their 10mm scale tabletop wargame Armoured Clash, with a gorgeous starter set called The Battle for Singapore. It’s set in the same alt-history steampunk universe, but features spectacular land battles. Huzzah! Other sets are already out there, and knowing Warcradle they’ll be a lot more to come at a rapid rate.

Now I haven’t got this to the table yet as I’ve been very busy painting all the little guys, but so far it’s looking like a solid set of rules, more straightforward than Dystopian Wars, and the miniatures themselves are beautifully detailed. In fact I’ve had to get out the old head loupe in order to paint them as well as they deserve, and it’s amazing how much more crisp detail pops out when you have sufficient magnification!

Look out for much more about this game here on the Order, as I hope to support it as much as I have Dystopian Wars. It’s fantastic to see epic scale tabletop gaming with a different theme, using a vast variety of units – artillery, tanks, flying troops, sharpshooters, walkers, robot cavalry, steambikes, animated statues, and especially huge land fortresses! In the meantime, here’s my rules & reference so you don’t have to flip through the (excellent) rulebook while your tiny armies clash on the tabletop.
