– there is no language for such abysms of shrieking and immemorial lunacy, such eldritch contradictions of all matter, force, and cosmic order. A mountain walked or stumbled…
Cthulhu Wars v2 is a complete rewrite following the Omega Edition of the rulebook.
I was a bit nonplussed recently when Petersen Games decided to call their new volunteer support programme The Esoteric Order of Petersen Games. I certainly can’t claim exclusive ownership of Lovecraft’s name, but after years developing my little niche in the wider gaming world, I didn’t want gamers to get confused between us either. Thankfully, Sandy Petersen is a nice guy, and when I contacted him he was kind enough to take my concerns seriously – especially considering he has a lot more clout in the industry. He offered to put a link to my site on his website, and to send me some of his products in the future for EOG coverage (and with no expectation of biased reviews, I might add that he took pains to point out).
So while I can’t claim to be the only esoteric organisation out there, it’s at least a comfort to be sharing the name with considerate people.
This second version of my Cthulhu Wars summary and reference has been completely redone to follow the tweaked rules of the ‘Omega Edition’ of the rulebook.
