In this situation mediocrity and genius are equally useless!
The EOG downs tools to open a copy of Scythe: Collector’s Edition by Stonemaier Games. Mechs, farmers and gamers unite and throw off your oppressors!
Quite apart from the fantastic production values, the excellent graphic design, the attention to detail, the well-run Kickstarter campaign, the generosity of components, and the truly stunning artwork, what a pleasure it is to finally get a game with a SHORT, SHARP NAME! Yay! Yep, no colons, double-barrelled long-winded labels, or silly linguistic tricks here, just a bold, strong, simple name that’s easy to say. “Want to play Scythe?” “YEAH!”
Jamey Stegmaier of Stonemaier Games has outdone himself, and also showed us what good value in boardgame buying used to mean. Big publishers please take note! While you’re shaving dollars off your costs by using flimsy stock and putting less in the box, this game is overflowing with high quality and dedication to the craft of making boardgames. Well done Jamey!
Bloody hell… that shipped a month early…. CMON (and others) please take note….
And the gameplay is great too!
But UH… you’re wrong about the name. Your version is Scythe: Collector’s Edition! 😀
And you’re 3535! I’m 11159.
Well – yeah, I guess. Damn! 🙂
LOL!
Waiting for your rules summary although the game’s intuitive enough after a few play throughs you wouldn’t need it.
Nothing like a bit of incentive to continue the hard work! 😉
Here’s the thing: until u get the hang of the game, you NEED the summary.
Another one would be for the solo rules. They work well but the movement is a bit tricky.
That looks gorgeous. My main reason for backing was the art. It’s really fantastic. I can’t wait for the game to reach Africa.
